National wrestler qualifies for Rio Olympics
Azerbaijani wrestler Jamaladdin Mammadov (125kg) has booked a spot at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics after winning a silver medal at the world championship held in Las Vegas.
On the way to the final, Mammadov beat Iraqi, Japanese, Mongolian and Georgian rivals, but lost to Turkish European and world champion Taha Akgul.
Mammadov is the 11th Azerbaijani wrestler who qualified for Rio Olympics, AzerTac state news agency reported
