Azerbaijan's sport minister to visit U.S.
Azerbaijan's Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov will pay a visit to the U.S. to participate in the second preparatory meeting for the I Global Forum on Youth Policies to be held in Baku on October 28-30.
The forum organizers are the Youth and Sports Ministry, United Nations Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth, UNESCO, Council of Europe.
The minister will convey an official invitation to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
Rahimov will take part and make a speech at the conference organized by the Office of the United Nations Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth in one of the leading universities of the U.S.- Colombia University, on March 24-26.
Also, the minister will hold official meetings with head of UN Development Program (UNDP) Administrator Helen Clark, Under-Secretary-General for Public Information at the United Nations Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal, and others.
Furthermore, it is planned to sign a memorandum of understanding between the Youth and Sports Ministry and the Office of the United Nations Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth, during the meeting with Special envoy of UN General Secretary, Ahmed Alhandavi.
