The fourth Turkmen-Russian economic forum participants met in the Belgorod city of Russia.

Turkmen media reported that the meeting was organized by the chambers of commerce of the two countries.

The representatives of Russia's business circles presented their latest scientific and industrial developments to the Turkmen side. The geography of these enterprises covers the cities of Moscow, Belgorod, Cheboksary, Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg, Ulyanovsk and others.

A detailed discussion on new joint projects in such areas as agriculture, food and processing industry, construction, transport sphere was held during the forum, the report said.

In addition, "a search for mutually acceptable models and effective forms of business partnership, and spheres of expanding cooperation relations for better use of economic and intellectual potential of regions of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation" was carried out.

The Turkmen delegation visited a number of enterprises in Belgorod, namely, the Northern Industrial Park, Shebekinsky Machine- Building Plant, Belogorie, Energomash, Borisov Plant of Bridge Metalconstruction, Holding Company Energomash-Story, Belgorodstroydetal, Izovol and others within the program.

Russia holds the leading positions in Turkmenistan's largest foreign trade partners' ranking. The cooperation with major regions of the Russian Federation, including Tatarstan, St. Petersburg, Astrakhan, Sverdlovsk region and others became more active in recent years.

Central Asia's largest educational and trade service center KAMAZ is situated in Ashgabat, since the total number of car models of this brand in Turkmenistan exceeds 10,000 units.

The cooperation in fuel-energy sector is traditionally developing in the country. Russian Gazprom regularly purchases Turkmen gas, Tatneft OJSC performs works in the western region of Turkmenistan and the Russian gas company Itera is operating in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.

Over 190 enterprises are registered in Turkmenistan with participation of Russian capital and more than 240 investment projects are being implemented.
