Russian navigation products to be supplied to Turkmenistan

Russian SpaceTeam holding will supply high-tech navigation products to Turkmenistan for modernization and improvement of the efficiency of the Turkmen transport sector, Space Team holding reported. The products will be based on GLONASS global navigation satellite system.
An agreement on the establishment of a comprehensive dealer center in Ashgabat was signed with AGA Birleshik leading technology company of Turkmenistan.
Space Team holding's experience will also be used while creating the navigation and information systems at the oil and gas enterprises, chemical enterprises and electric power facilities.
A number of pilot projects on introducing GLONASS solutions are planned to be launched.
According to Director of Marketing at SpaceTeam holding Svetlana Khadonova, the company has all the necessary technological resources to form unified standards for customer service in the territory of Russia and the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), create a single navigation area to improve the safety of passenger and dangerous goods transportation.
GLONASS is based on a constellation of active satellites which continuously transmit coded signals in two frequency bands, which can be received by users anywhere on the Earth's surface to identify their position and velocity in real time based on ranging measurements.
GLONASS is managed for the Russian Government by the Russian Space Forces and the system is operated by the Coordination Scientific Information Center of the Russian Defense Ministry.
