David Bakradze joins presidential race in Georgia
Ex-speaker of the parliament, leader of the parliamentary
minority David Bakradze became presidential candidate from the
party of Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili "United National
Movement".
Bakradze confidently won all his competitors in the primaries held
in Tbilisi. Bakradze also won all the primaries held in the regions
of Georgia, as well as an online-survey, leaving behind MPs Giorgi
Baramidze, Shota Malashkhia and Zurab Abashidze.
Following the victory Bakradze said that today Georgia needs a
president who will unite the country and will not spread dispute.
He thinks he has a chance to win in the elections.
Presidential elections in Georgia will be held on October 27.
