Iran opens sugar plant

A sugar production plant with an annual production capacity of 5,200 tons was inaugurated in the border city of Oshnavieh, western Iran, IRIB reported.

The plant cost 7.3 billion rials (about $600,000) to be constructed. It has created 180 jobs.

IRIB quoted industry official Morad Amirpour as saying that the plant's products are projected to be exported to Iraq, Turkey, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.
