Iran charges Israel in kidnapping IRGC general

Iran's Police Chief Esmaeil Ahmadi Moghaddam claimed that Mossad is involved in Iran's former deputy defense minister, Brigadier General Ali-Reza Asgari's disappearing, Trend news agency reported referring to Fars News Agency.

While speaking in connection with Asghari's disappearing six years ago, Moghaddam said that Mossad has abducted Asghari and he is in Israel's prison.

There is not exact information about the fate of IRGC top general Asghari who disappeared six years ago during the visit to Turkey.

The Washington Post reported on March 8, 2007 citing the senior U.S. official that Asghari has left his country and "is cooperating with Western intelligence agencies, providing information on Hezbollah and Iran's ties to the organization".

Iran rejects this claim and says that he is abducted, but the Israeli government denied any connection to Asgari.
