Turkmenistan opens trading center in China

The opening ceremony of a shopping center of Turkmenistan took place in Xining, the administrative center of China’s Qinghai Province, the Turkmen state news agency reported.
A wide range of products is represented by the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan. Products of folk art, carpets, national dress of keteni (silk homespun fabric), Turkmen textiles, as well as products from medicinal plants are offered to customers.
Food products - juices, confectionery, canned seafood take a considerable place in the assortment of goods.
“Currently, domestic production competes with its foreign counterparts, and its high quality, introduction of modern technologies, the use of environmentally friendly raw materials contribute to this,” said the Turkmen state news agency in its commentary.
The foreign trade turnover between Turkmenistan and China in the first half of 2016 amounted to about $2.43 billion. The main operations are associated with the supply of Turkmen gas to China.
Great prospects are seen in the import of technological and consumer goods, as well as transfer of Chinese innovation technologies.
