President Aliyev receives newly-appointed ambassadors

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received credentials of newly-appointed Mexican Ambassador Martha Elena Barsena on March 1, AzerTag state news agency reported.

The ambassador passed along a ceremonial guard of honor.

President Aliyev had a conversation with the diplomat.

Barsena expressed her country`s interest in development of cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of energy.

Later, President Aliyev received credentials of newly-appointed Sri-Lankan Ambassador Mohamed Faizal Razee.

The ambassador passed along a ceremonial guard of honor. Then, President Aliyev had a conversation with the diplomat.

Razee conveyed greetings of President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa to the Head of State.

They stressed the importance of developing the bilateral and multilateral ties between Azerbaijan and Sri-Lanka. The sides underlined the significance of determining directions of cooperation through exploring the current opportunities.

The Head of State asked Razee to extend his greetings to the Sri Lankan President.

On the same day, President Aliyev received credentials of newly-appointed Ambassador of Benin Aniset Gabriel Kochofa.

The ambassador passed along a ceremonial guard of honor.

President Aliyev had a conversation with the diplomat.

Kochofa conveyed greetings of President of the Republic of Benin Yayi Boni to the Head of State.

The diplomat said Benin was interested in developing the mutual bonds with Azerbaijan in different fields, particularly in energy, science and education. He noted he would spare no efforts to contribute to strengthening Azerbaijan-Benin relations.

President Aliyev noted the importance of developing the bilateral relations. He said there were good opportunities for expansion of ties.

The Head of State asked Kochofa to extend his greetings to the Benin President.
