The courses organized at the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy in Baku for representatives of foreign oil companies will form the basis of mutual cooperation, Head of the Azerbaijan International Development Agency under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (AIDA), Ashraf Shikhaliyev, said during the opening of the courses on October 28.

According to Shikhaliyev, the Agency is ready to contribute to the development of cooperation between the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, the state energy company SOCAR and foreign companies whose employees are attending the courses.

In particular, the courses are attended by representatives of oil companies of Vietnam, India, Iraq, Kuwait, China, Oman and others.

The courses are divided into three parts: the process of learning, scientific cooperation and the use of the achievements in the countries whose representatives participate in the courses or in third countries.

Azerbaijan is now established as one of the oil centers of the world and an artery in the flow lanes through Asia, the Caucasus and Europe.

Investors from abroad have invested in Azerbaijan's oil industry in order to solve their problems of energy security as well as to profit from the region's geostrategic advantages.

A number of US, British, Norwegian, Japanese, Russian, Turkish and Saudi companies partnered with SOCAR, providing for the joint production of Azerbaijani oil.

Azerbaijan's oil diplomacy continues successfully today. Its priority is the diversification of energy exports. This policy increases the country's importance in ensuring Europe's energy security year on year.
