Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva visited several facilities for orphans in Baku on September 30.

They visited a special boarding school in the Khazar district, a summer camp of an orphanage in the Shuvalan settlement of Baku, a psycho-neurological orphanage in the Narimanov district of the capital city and the Down's Syndrome Association.

Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva first visited the special boarding school No.12 in the Khazar district. The facility has educated paralyzed children since 1969.

The boarding school was repaired on the initiative of First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva in 2010. It serves up to 141 children aged 6-14.

Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva talked to the children and presented to them gifts from the Foundation.

The same day, they visited the summer camp of the orphanage No.1 in Shuvalan.

The summer camp was reconstructed in 2013. All necessary conditions were provided there for the recreation and entertainment of children.

Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva talked to children and watched their dance performances. Then they had a tea party with the children.

Afterwards, Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva visited the orphanage No.1 in the Nasimi district of Baku.

They were informed that the facility, which was built in 1930, was reconstructed and remodeled in 2005 on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The facility serves up to 39 children.

Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva talked to the children. Then children of the orphanage were presented gifts of the Foundation.

They also visited the psycho-neurological orphanage in the Narimanov district, which was reconstructed on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in 2009.

Medical staff consisting of about 90 persons serves 103 children there. Children were presented gifts.

Then Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva visited the first Down's Syndrome Association in the South Caucasus, opened in Baku. The aim of the facility, which is designated for up to 96 children, is to provide children's rehabilitation and integration into the society.

Opening of a new facility of the Down's Syndrome Association, built at the initiative of the Foundation, is expected in the near future.
