Azerbaijan and Argentina discussed the prospects of cooperation in information technology and space communications sectors, Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry reported on Sept. 9.

The cooperation issues were discussed between Azerbaijani Ambassador Mammad Ahmadzade and Argentina's Minister of Federal Planning, Public Investment and Services Julio De Vido in Argentina.

The discussions focused on cooperation and implementation of joint projects in energy and infrastructure, as well as on the improvement of the legal framework.

The meeting also considered the possibility of Argentina's participation in the Bakutel-2013 exhibition and conference to be held on Dec. 2-5. The Azerbaijani side invited Argentinean companies to the exhibition.

Argentina and Azerbaijan are currently developing cooperation in ICT. Argentina's high-technology company INVAP, engaged in the construction and delivery of complex equipment, earlier expressed readiness to contribute to the development of the space industry in Azerbaijan.

The company supplies equipment to more than 30 countries and has offices in Australia, Brazil, Chile, Egypt and the United States.

Moreover, Argentinean companies in the future will be able to take advantage of the State Fund for Development of Information Communication Technologies, Hi-Tech Park and the ICT University of the country.

Argentina and Azerbaijan are also interested in joint development of agriculture in both countries.

Recently Argentina achieved good results in the development of agriculture with the aid of modern technologies and intends to share this experience with Azerbaijan.
