Germany appoints new ambassador to Azerbaijan
By Sara Rajabova
Heidrun Tempel has been appointed the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Azerbaijan, the German Embassy in Baku said on July 26.
"Azerbaijan is a beautiful country, which is distinguished for its special hospitality and tolerance and I'm very pleased with my new appointment," Tempel said in her message. "My goal is to make Germany and Azerbaijan closer and deepen our economic and cultural relations."
Earlier, Tempel served as an ambassador and special commissioner on intercultural dialogue of the German Foreign Ministry in Berlin, as well as in Brussels, Belgium and Jakarta, Indonesia.
Tempel will replace Herbert Quelle, who completed his mission to Azerbaijan in July.
