President Aliyev receives Deputy Speaker of Canadian House of Commons
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received on Wednesday a Canadian delegation led by Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, chairman of the Canada-Azerbaijan Friendship Group Barry Devolin, AzerTac state news agency reported.
Barry Devolin said it was his second visit to Azerbaijan. The Deputy Speaker added he had eye-witnessed big development processes in Baku since his last visit.
During the meeting, they noted there was big potential for expansion of relations on different fronts, including in the fields of economy, politics and interparliamentary cooperation.
The Azerbaijani President and the Canadian Deputy Speaker stressed the importance of reciprocal visits in terms of strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
They also discussed prospects for Azerbaijan-Canada cooperation.
