First session of Baku Congress eyes future of news consumption

The first session of the 5th News Agencies World Congress in Baku has looked at the future of news consumption.

The session moderated by President of the News Agencies World Council, CEO of Press Association Group Clive Marshall, highlighted issues on the agenda.

Speakers included Director of Editorial Network at News Corp Alan Oakley, Director General of Al Arabiya Turki Abdullah Aldakhil, Global Head of Network at Axel Springer Romanus Otte, Director of Stibo Accelerator Kim Svendsen and Special correspondent of AZERTAC in the USA Yusif Babanli.

Azerbaijan hosts the 5th News Agencies World Congress, the 16th General Assembly of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) and the 22nd session of the Council of CIS Heads of News Agencies on November 16.

Co-organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Azerbaijan’s state new agency AZERTAC, these events bring together heads and representatives of about 100 news agencies, which shape the global information policy, international media experts, UN - UNESCO official, and representatives of regional media organizations.
