Azerbaijan's designer to attend China's fashion festival

Azerbaijani fashion designer and PhD in art, Gulnara Khalilova has been invited to participate in the third Eurasian international clothes festival "Silk Road".
The festival will be held at China's international clothing town Dehui in Urumqi on September 2-7.
The main organizers of the festival are the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, PRC's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Textile Industry Association of China.
The annual Silk Road festival pays tribute to the enduring influence of this ancient way. The Clothes Festival presents thoroughly modern fashion shows and industry fairs.
The event aims to promote cooperation among Asian and European regions.
The festival will include a series of events, including a conference on Chinese clothing and textiles, the Asian and European fashion week, presentation of novelty in fashion industry, national brands, as well as the ceremony of awarding the best works of the festival.
Gulnara Khalilova is a proclaimed designer in Azerbaijan and the winner of a number of prestigious international awards in China, Turkey as well as in Azerbaijan.
Works of Khalilova's national collection can be found in Egypt, the library of Alexandria, the Cultural Center of Istanbul, and in the cultural centers of various cities in the U.S.
The designer created costumes for the classic Azerbaijani operetta "Arshin mal alan" by famous composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov staged at the 100th anniversary of the State Theatre of Musical Comedy.
Her works are also available in private collections of famous Turkish public figures, representatives of culture and art Ajda Pekkan, Emrah Erdogan, Beyazit Ozturk, Soner Sarikabadayi, and others.
