Scandinavian crime novels in focus of Baku readers

Baku`s Art Tower Gallery invites book lovers to join the evening of Scandinavian crime novels, Trend life reported.

The event scheduled for January 17 will focus on the creativity of Scandinavian crime-fiction authors, fiction movie adaptations and much more.

Stieg Larsson's Millennium series and Jo Nesbø`s Harry Hole will be discussed during the event.

Karl Stig-Erland "Stieg" Larsson is best known for writing the Millennium trilogy of crime novels, which were published posthumously and adapted as motion pictures. Larsson lived much of his life in Stockholm and worked there in the field of journalism and as an independent researcher of right-wing extremism.

He was the second best-selling author in the world for 2008.

Nesbø is primarily known for his crime novels about Inspector Harry Hole, but he is also the main vocalist and songwriter for the Norwegian rock band Di Derre.

More than 3 million copies of his novels have been sold in Norway, and his work has been translated into over 40 languages, selling 23 million copies as of March 2014.

Co-organized by NGO Arts Council Azerbaijan and the State Historical and Architectural Reserve “Icherisheher”, the workshop will be led by Rustam Huseynov and Aydin Sadigov.

Entrance is free. The event starts at 19:00.
