MobilBank service allows to get money from ATMs without plastic cards

For the first time in Azerbaijan, a new service "Cash by Code" through "MobilBank", which allows to withdraw money from ATMs without plastic cards using mobile phones, is being presented in Azerbaijan, the International Bank of Azerbaijan said on Wednesday.
The service is offered by AzeriCard, the first processing center in Azerbaijan completely certified by International Payment Systems including MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Diners Club. AzeriCard performs processing for 30 banks in Azerbaijan and abroad, and 28 of them are also members of International Payment Systems.
AzeriCard actively implements high-technology projects including public transport payments by contactless bank payment cards, payments for telecommunication services and utilities, customs and tax payments, Internet and mobile banking, and card-to-card transfers. Currently, AzeriCard serves some 2 million cards, 1,500 ATMs and about 30,000 POS terminals.
The service gives the plastic card owner a chance to take cash from an ATM or offers an opportunity to send money in any currency to another person with no plastic card.
To use the service the card owner has to enter the "MobilBank" system on his or her cell phone, select the "Cash by Code" section, then pick a currency and enter the amount to be transferred.
The system generates a special code. The "MobilBank" user can take cash from an ATM by entering this code or pass on this code to the recipient by any convenient and safe means. Thus, the recipient enters the code at the ATM and gets money without using a plastic card.
"MobilBank" provides an opportunity to track the card owner's bank account status, obtain information on the latest transactions, watch cash flow on the account, check the balance or block the card in case it is stolen or lost.
