The Baku International "Fusion Doll” Biennale is being held for the third time at Baku's Museum Center on November 5-10. The event displays creative works by master craftsmen from such countries as Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine, Japan, Estonia, and Russia.

Over the past ten years, the master of crafting dolls from Belarus, Galina Dmitruk, has created some 130 dolls, most of which are in private collections in many countries, including Azerbaijan.

People in Azerbaijan are not only familiar with her art, but also are big fans of it, and impatiently waiting for new dolls.

Galina brought a doll from the "Silk" collection for this year’s event. This is the final doll, as the entire collection has been sold in different countries throughout the world. Galina brought a special doll, especially for the Azerbaijani audience, the first doll from the new collection "1001 Nights", which is focused on the beauty of Azerbaijani women.

Her plan is to hold a private exhibition in Baku in the spring. She hopes that the Azerbaijani audience will accept and enjoy her view about women’s beauty.

Galina says that Azerbaijani women -- interesting, intriguing, vibrant and free – are sources for her inspiration.

She also said that people surrounding her in Azerbaijan are strong, independent, beautiful women, and her 1001 Nights collection is about a mysterious woman. “I make dolls with beautiful brown eyes, long black eyelashes and luxurious hair.”

Without any intention to offend anyone, she calls Azerbaijan her motherhood, as every time Galina comes to Baku she is surrounded by friends and fans.
