Malta views Azerbaijan as reliable partner
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Italy, Malta and San Marino Vagif Sadiqov has held a range of meetings on the sidelines of his working visit to Valletta.
During the visit aimed at strengthening ties between the two
countries, the ambassador met with Prime Minister of Malta Joseph
Muscat, Speaker of Parliament Anqlu Farrugia, Malta’s Foreign
Minister George Vella, Energy and Health Minister Konrad Mizzi,
Valletta Mayor Alexiei Dingli and members of the Malta-Azerbaijan
Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, AzerTag state news agency
reported.
The sides exchanged views on prospects of developing bilateral
relations. It was noted that the bilateral cooperation is
developing rapidly in recent years. Malta is interested in
deepening relations on political, cultural, humanitarian, economic
and other fields.
The sides also stressed the importance of implementing joint
projects and events on humanitarian, cultural and other
spheres.
The Maltese representatives stated that Azerbaijan is thought to
be a reliable partner for Malta.
Analyzing the current status of the Armenia-Azerbaijan,
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the meetings emphasized significance of
taking more realistic measures in solving the problem.
Touching upon the efforts of the European Union in the settlement of the conflict, the sides stressed that the community should not be indifferent to the solution of problems.
