Azerbaijani athletes are hopeful for the support of fans during the upcoming FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics in Baku, says Azerbaijani gymnast Svetlana Makshtareva.

“Currently, we are training hard,” she told Trend March 2. “We will be able to have two or three more trainings before the tournament starts.”

“I would, of course, like to advance to finals and win a medal, but I need to train for that,” she added.

Makshtareva also noted that very strong athletes, for example, Tatiana Petrenya from Belarus, Ekaterina Khilko from Uzbekistan, will participate in the FIG World Cup in Baku.

The FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics will be held at the National Gymnastics Arena March 5-6.

Athletes from Europe, Japan, Australia and the US are to participate in the event.

Overall, 77 gymnasts (46 men and 31 women), representing 17 countries, will participate in the tournament.
