Azerbaijan’s population has increased by 106,100 people since the beginning of 2014, hitting 9,583,200 as of December 1, 2014. The country`s State Statistics Committee said.
The population density is 111 people per a square kilometer.
Official figures also suggest that 53.2 percent of the population lives in towns, while 46.8 percent in villages.
The ratio is 1,000 men to 1,011 women.
Some 156,200 children were born in the country in 11 months of the last year, 53.6 percent of them are boys, while 46.4 percent - girls, the committee said.
A total of 50,900 deaths were reported during this period.
