Georgia, Azerbaijan mull co-op in pipeline protection

Georgia and Azerbaijan discussed the prospects for future co-operation in the sphere of pipeline protection.

Delegation of Azerbaijan's Special Protection Service visited the department for the protection of Strategic Pipelines of Special Emergency Measures center of Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the ministry reported.

Georgian side familiarized the Azerbaijani delegation with innovations and changes in the sphere of protection of pipelines implemented in 2013. Innovations concerned communication system and work of digital appliances.

The Special Protection Service is responsible for the protection of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and South Caucasian pipelines on the territory of Azerbaijan.
