31st EFPSA Congress kicks off in Gakh [PHOTO]

Azerbaijan hosts a congress of the European Federation of Psychology Students' Associations (EFPSA) for the first time.

Co-organized by ASAN Volunteers and Azerbaijan Young Psychologists Association, the congress is underway in Gakh city.

The event brought together 300 young psychologists and 20 academics from 33 countries.

The congress, which is held under the motto “Humanity today”, is dedicated to the psychological consequences of wars and terrorist attacks, problems of intercultural relations, crisis of refugees and internally displaced persons.

In their speech, Chief Executive of Gakh Region Musa Shekiliyev, Chief of Staff of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Azad Jafarli, Head of "ASAN Volunteers" Bakhtiyar Islamov and Chairman of "GÉ™nc Psixoloqlar"  Public Assotiation Orkhan Orujzadeh stressed the importance of the congress to discuss various issues of cooperation between prospective young professionals from different countries, as well as  solve various problems through the prism of modern requirements and realities.

The congress will last until April 30.

EFPSA, the European Federation of Psychology Students’ Associations was established in 1987, at the first International Congress of Psychology Students in Portugal and now consists of 32 Psychology student associations. Stimulated by its mission, vision and values, EFPSA attracts more and more students every year, with the number of its members increasing and so far represents approximately 300.000 psychology students across Europe.
