Armenia's ruling party withdraws prime minister candidate

The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) has decided not to put forward its candidate for the position of prime minister, following consultations with Acting Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan and former President Serzh Sargsyan, Vice President of the Armenian parliament Eduard Sharmazanov said Saturday, Sputnik International reports.

Armenian police detains 62 demonstrators

The number of detained demonstrators, protesting against Serzh Sargsyan's appointment as the Prime Minister of Armenia, has reached 62 in Yerevan,RIA Novosti reported referring to Ashot Agaronyan, the head of the office of public relations and information of the Police of Armenia.
