Easiest way to come to Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan with its nine climatic zones, marvelous nature, captivating history, original architecture and distinctive art has dynamically turned into a tourist destination.

However, there is one problem which slows down the tourists flow into the country.

One of my European friends who has become a huge fan of Azerbaijan through the stories he heard recently, was eager to visit the Land of Fire. He was ready to buy a ticket, travel to regions of the country and roam the length and breadth of Baku. Unfortunately, when it came to visa obtaining, he faced many problems.

The hospitable Azerbaijan, like every other country of the world vigorously secures its territory and independence. Thus, not everyone can obtain the chance to visit this country.

Citizens of Georgia and most of the CIS countries can arrive in Azerbaijan without visa and stay in the country up to 90 days after registering their residence.

Moreover, citizens of Israel and Turkey can easily get a visa at the visa departments of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku, in Ganja and Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Experts believe that one of the main problems of those people, who want to come to Azerbaijan, is obtaining a visa. To obtain a visa, foreigners have to wait quite a long time, which is connected with security issues.

Nevertheless, it is not a difficult task for a tourist who has all required documents, for European citizens specially. The visa facilitation agreement between Azerbaijan and the European Union came into force this September.

Documents required in Azerbaijani embassies for getting a visa are as follows: 1 application form, 2 color photos (3x4 cm on a white background), passport or ID document, an invitation, tourist voucher, or other information confirming the purpose of visit, and a receipt confirming the payment of the state duty.

Visa applications to Azerbaijan are considered within a month at the latest, or 48 hours if the visit is urgent.

Getting visa is not always convenient for the residents of the areas remote from the Azerbaijani embassy. This sometime leads tourists to refuse the idea of visiting Azerbaijan.

Since last year, getting a visa to Azerbaijan has become easy by setting up of this site: www.evisa.mfa.gov.az.

Through this website, any tourist can get an online visa by sending a copy of his passport to a travel company. Thus, tourists can get a visa online within 14 working days.

Experts believe this procedure will increase the number of tourists visiting Azerbaijan especially during great occasions like inaugural Baku European Games in June 2015.

The tourist flow is permanently increasing in Azerbaijan. So, take the first step right now and visit the country as soon as possible. Azerbaijan is the country of high mountains and deep sea, delicious main cuisine and sweets, juicy fruits and thrilling landscapes.
