Baku hosts meeting of European Olympic Committee’s Commission

A meeting of the European Olympic Committee’s “Gender Equality in Sport” Commission has been held in Baku.

The meeting was attended by President of Lithuanian Olympic Committee, member of EOC Executive Committee, chair of the Commission Diana Dudzineviciute, President of the Polish Olympic Committee Andrzej Krasnicki, President of Finland Olympic Committee Risto Nieminen, Board member of NOC of Denmark Tine Teilmann, Board member of NOC of Great Britain Sarah Treseder, vice-president of Latvian Women Society Ineta Radevica, EOC’s Athletes Commission member Tatiana Lebedeva and Director of International Relations of NOC of Azerbaijan Konul Nurullayeva.

Konul Nurullayeva, director of International Relations of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and member of the Commission, made a speech titled “Gender Equality in Azerbaijan”.

The meeting discussed the results of previous meeting held in Prague and future plans. Moreover the working plan and strategy of gender equality issues in European Olympic Committee’s member countries was in the agenda of the meeting.

At the same time cooperation with other organizations in the field of Gender Equality, as well as the proposals for EOC Coordination Comission was discussed in the meeting, Azertac state news agency reported.
