Stepko urges fans to support Azerbaijani gymnasts
Azerbaijani gymnast Oleg Stepko has advanced to the finals at the FIG World Challenge Cup in Artistic Gymnastics, being held in Baku.
"I am not very pleased with my performances,” he said. “I am displeased with pommel horse and floor exercises.”
The gymnast urged fans to support Azerbaijani athletes at the FIG World Challenge Cup in Artistic Gymnastics.
"I do not want to plan and predict anything,” he said. “Come tomorrow and support us."
The FIG World Challenge Cup in Artistic Gymnastics kicked off in Baku on February 19 and is to end on February 21. As many as 45 male and 22 female gymnasts will compete for medals in apparatus finals of the World Challenge Cup.
In general, athletes from 19 countries are to participate in the event.
Men’s and women’s qualifications on the first two days of the competitions will be followed by apparatus finals on the last day.
