National gymnasts show brilliant results

The Open Joint Azerbaijan Championships in Gymnastics underway in Baku with interesting performance of national and foreign gymnasts.

National gymnasts continue to win more medals on the last day of the championship.

Marina Durunda, showing brilliant performance won a gold medal with 18,250 points in ribbon exercises. Russian Yana Kudravceva with 17,416 points and Nicole Ruprecht from Austria with 17,366 points followed her.

Durunda claimed another silver medal performing with clubs. She gained 18,066 points, leaving behind Georgian Salome Pazhava with 17,633 points. The first place was secured by Russian Yana Kudravceva, scoring 18,066 points.

Azerbaijani team in rhythmic gymnastics also took silver medal to the country. Competing with five ribbons the team with 16,166 points left behind gymnasts from France. The first place took Russian team with 17,350 points.

National acrobats Ulyana Dyakova and Anatoliy Leonov also distinguished on the final day, bringing one more gold medal. Taking the first place in dynamic exercises in mixed pair they left behind the duo from Bulgaria and Germany.

Some 133 gymnasts from 22 countries competed for medals both in the all-around and the individual competitions in the test championship running at the National Gymnastics Arena of Baku on the eve of the European Games on March 4-6.
