Azerbaijan Cycling Federation announces media call

The 2015 cycling season has started and Azerbaijan Cycling Federation is already full of plans for the Tour d’Azerbaïdjan.

Federation announced that it wants to give the media the opportunity to join the event that will run from May 6 to 10.

“During the Tour we can also give you an insight in the European Games, the country and the new structured cycling federation. If you are interested in attending the Tour d’Azerbaïdjan 2015, please fill out the application form found here,” the report reads.

There are limited spots available so the interested should apply March 1.

The race and its sponsors are providing airfare (flights from airports served by the Azal Airlines, such as Milan, Rome, Paris, Prague, Istanbul, Vienna, Frankfurt, etc.) and hotel rooms, transportation during the race and daily meals. The journalists are guaranteed access to the riders and teams.

“The Tour runs from May 6 to 10, and we will fly you in on May 5. If you are attending the Tour of Turkey, we will fly you from Turkey to Baku on May 5. Flights home are on May 11,” the report reads.

Tour d'Azerbaïdjan
The Tour d’Azerbaïdjan is a UCI 2.1 five-day stage race. This will be the fourth edition of the event, which started in 2012 as the Heydar Aliyev Anniversary Tour (U23) and was held in 2013 and 2014 under its current name, the Tour d’Azerbaïdjan.

European Games
In June, Baku will host the first ever European Games, which will feature road cycling, mountain biking and BMX. While at the Tour, you can check out the new facilities that have been prepared for these debut games.

Cycling Federation of Azerbaijan
Federation is also looking forward to sharing impression on the structure the Cycling Federation of Azerbaijan has built since they started the cycling project in 2011, and sharing plans for the future.

The Tour covers all seven regions of Azerbaijan in five stages, starting and ending in the capital city of Baku. This Caucasus nation contains 9 of 11 climate zones, with mountains, ridges and plateaus covering more than half of the land. On its eastern side, Baku sits on the beautiful Caspian Sea.
