Azerbaijani cements FILA World Rankings top spot
Azerbaijani Haji Aliyev at 61kg has retained his number one spot on the Freestyle World Ranking List of the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA) for August, AzerTag state news agency reported.
Other Azerbaijani freestyle wrestlers Ahmadnabi Gvarzatilov at 57kg, Ruslan Dibirhajiyev at 70kg, Jabrayil Hasanov at 74kg, Hamzat Osmanov at 86kg, Khetag Gazyumov at 97kg, Sharif Sharifov at 97kg, Ali Isayev at 125kg and Jamaladdin Mahammadov at 125kg are 5th, 2nd, 2nd, 9th, 3rd, 6th, 6th and 7th respectively.
FILA has also placed Azerbaijan's Maria Stadnik and Yulia Ratkevich at the top of its latest world rankings in the women's 48kg and 60kg weight categories.
The rankings were drawn up based on the results of the Golden Grand Prix international wrestling tournament commemorating national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Two other Azerbaijani wrestlers, Irina Netreba (58kg) and Ragnetta Gurbanzade (69kg), ranked 7th and 19th respectively.
