Azerbaijani female wrestlers scope 6 medals in Turkey
Young Azerbaijani female wrestlers have brought home a clutch of 6 medals, including 3 golld, from the 17th Victory Cup tournament in Antalya, Turkey, AzerTag state news agency reported.
Along with Azerbaijan, the tournament brought together female wrestlers from Turkey, Russia, Germany, France, Belarus, Georgia, Iran, Armenia, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
Gold medals came from Tatyana Vorontsova weighing in at 49kg,
Leyla Gurbanova at 52kg and Anita Kalantarova at 70kg.
Turkan Nasirova and Sabina Hemzelzade scooped silver medals in the
46kg and 49kg divisions respectively, while Shabnam Ahmadova won
bronze in the 52kg weight category.
Azerbaijan ranked third in the overall medal table. Turkey finished first, followed by Kazakhstan.
