Holding events at the international level helps to increase the number of Azerbaijani professionals in various fields, Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov said at an annual youth forum in Baku on February 2, organized by Baku City Circuit Operations Company (BCC).

The minister noted that such projects as Formula 1 represent remarkable career opportunities for both people working in this field, and for those who are just starting their careers.

“Such international events as Formula 1, Eurovision, Islamic Games develop and educate generations of professionals in such sectors as finance, human resources, personnel management, as well as specialists in the field of entertainment industry,” said Rahimov.

He added that the success and scope with which such events are conducted are also facilitated by volunteers whose work and contribution cannot be overestimated.

“Azerbaijani participants of the Islamic Games, Formula 1, as well as other events are involved in other foreign projects, such as the Asian Games held this year in Ashgabat or the European Games that will be held in Belarus, which indicates the high level of professionalism and qualifications that have been acquired and are being developed by participants of similar projects,” said the minister.

The youth forum was also attended by U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta, Deputy Education Minister of Azerbaijan Firudin Gurbanov, BP Azerbaijan’s Human resources vice president Leyla Novruzova and Azerbaijani MP Fuad Muradov.

The U.S. ambassador stressed the importance of volunteering activities in Azerbaijan.
