Azerbaijan's male team Odlar Yurdu has grabbed a bronze medal at the European Club Cup 2017 held in Antalya, Turkey.

Odlar Yurdu`s female team ranked second in the tournament, Azertac reported.

The Russian men's team "Globus" scored 12 points and became the owner of the European Cups Cup.

The Chess European Club Cup 2017 was held in Antalya, Turkey, on October 7-15.

More than 30 teams competed at the tournament in Antalya.

Odlar Yurdu`s male squad included Arkadij Naiditsch, Rauf Mammadov, Gadir Huseynov, Eltaj Safarli, Nijat Abasov and Azer Mirzayev, Azertac reported.

The female team featured Gulnar Mammadova, Ulviyya Fataliyeva, Aydan Hojatova, Khanim Balajayeva and Zeynab Mammadyarova.

The European Chess Club Cup is an annual chess tournament for club teams from Europe.

The tournament origins are from the former Yugoslavia, where chess club competitions were quite popular. In 1996, the women's competition was added.

Both championships were held in 7 rounds, played under the Swiss system. The time control was 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move one.
