Azerbaijan's table tennis team competed for medals at the European Youth Championships held in Guimarães, Portugal on July 13-24.
The decision to grant Guimarães the honor of being the host city of the 2017 European Youth Championships came following successful talks between the European Table Tennis Union and the Portuguese Table Tennis Federation, ittf.com reported.
The championships brought together 520 athletes from 44 countries.
The Junior European Table Tennis Championship in the Portugal was marked for the Azerbaijani athletes with three victories.
Azerbaijani table tennis player Ning Jing claimed a gold medal at the tournament, Azertac reported.
National female table tennis players also grabbed bronze and silver medals.
