Azerbaijan adds 8 medals to its medal haul in Greece

Azerbaijan’s taekwondo fighters have claimed a clutch of eight medals at the President's Cup 2017 held in Athens, Greece.
The national team won two gold, two silver and four bronze medals, Azertac reported.
Ophelia Allahverdiyev (junior, 41 kg) did not leave chances to rivals and rose to the highest step of the podium. Gazim Magomedov (54 kg) and Radik Isayev (+87 kg) reached the final but lost a decisive battle. Sina Bahrami (68 kg) lost in the semifinals of the tournament.
The tournament brought together 2,182 taekwondo fighters from 51 countries.
The winners of the tournament will receive an additional license in their weight categories in the championship of Europe, which is planned to be held during the year.
