Kazakh synchro pair wins gold at Baku World Cup

Kazakh gymnasts Pirmammad Aliyev and Danil Mussabayev have won gold medals in synchronized pairs' event at the World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling in Baku.

They scored 51.400 points in the finals of the World Cup.

Silver went to Russian gymnasts Mikhail Melnik and Oleg Selyutin (50.5850 points) and bronze went to Japan’s Katsufumi Tasaki and Tetsuya Sotomura (50.700 points).

Azerbaijani gymnasts Ilya Grishunin and Oleg Piunov scored 48.450 points in the event.

The second day of the new Olympic cycle’s first World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling kicked off at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku Feb. 19.

The finals in men’s and women’s individual programs in trampoline gymnastics will be held further during the day. Azerbaijan will be represented by Ilya Grishunin in the finals.

Eighty-five gymnasts representing 15 countries are taking part in the World Cup.
