Taekwondo fighters win 7 medals in Turkey

Junior Azerbaijani taekwondo fighters have brought home a clutch of seven medals, including a gold from Turkish Open tournament held in Antalya, Azertac reported.
The gold medal came from Ayaz Ganbarli.
Other Azerbaijani fighters Aysu Mammadova, Mehriban Mammadova and Orkhan Taghizade claimed the silvers, while Parviz Isgandarov, Minaya Akbarova and Sevda Pirseyidova scooped the bronze medals of the tournament.
Taekwondo is one of the most popular sports in Azerbaijan. The National Taekwondo Federation has trained many prominent athletes since its founding in 1992. Many of those athletes now enjoy international recognition.
