Turkish PM: Ankara sees instability in South Caucasus as its own problem

Ankara sees the instability in South Caucasus as its own problem, Turkey's newly elected Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said live on TRT Haber news channel on May 24.

The new prime minister said Turkey will solve the problem of terrorism, adding the country will fight against terrorism on its own territory to the very end.

"One of Turkey's priorities is the fight against terrorism," Yildirim said. "The PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party), which has shed the blood of innocent people over the years, will remain in the past."

Yildirim further said that Turkey has problems in its relations with the EU.

Binali Yildirim, former minister of transport, maritime, and communication of Turkey, was elected the chairman of the country's ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party on May 22 and consequently he now serves as the prime minister.
