Rouhani calls for preparing national plan to develop Iran
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has called on the officials to
prepare the country for a second joint comprehensive plan of action
“JCPOA-2”.
He described the “JCPOA-2” as a national plan to change and develop
the country, IRNA reported.
Alluding to a nuclear deal also known as the Joint Comprehensive
Plan of Action clinched between Tehran and the world major powers
last July which put an end to most of the international sanctions
against the Islamic Republic over its nuclear program, Rouhani said
that the country should get ready for development.
President Rouhani made the remarks at a ceremony to inaugurate
several development projects across the country on the occasion of
the “Ten Days of Dawn”, marking the 37th anniversary of the 1979
Islamic Revolution, when the late revolution leader Ayatollah
Khomeini returned to Iran after almost 15 years of exile.
Saying that the JCPOA paved the way for the country’s development
and removed the obstacles, Rouhani added that the Iran is capable
of advancing forward.
After a number of nuclear talks between Tehran and the P5+1 group
of countries, the EU High Representative Federica Mogherini and
Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif announced Jan. 16
about the implementation of the JCPOA and the removal of economic
sanctions on Iran.
According to the statement, the EU confirmed that the legal
framework, providing for lifting of its nuclear-related economic
and financial sanctions, is effective.
