Statistics on e-devices owned by Iranians revealed
Over 98 percent of families in Iran, in particular 98.4 percent,
have a TV set at home, said a recent report by the Iran Statistics
Center.
The report also said that some 97.6 percent of families in Iran
have at least one phone or a cell phone.
The statistics further reveal that there are 10.5 million personal
computers in Iranian homes. Iran’s population is about 77.1 million
as 22.1 million families.
Some 61.1 and 98.9 urban families in Iran use a radio and a TV set
respectively, while in case with the rural families, the numbers
are 45.5 and 97.1 percent respectively.
The report further says that some 54 percent of urban families and
23.3 percent of rural families have at least one computer.
Also, 7.6 million urban families and 1.1 million rural families
have access to the internet. The internet-related statistics
further say that some 3.8 million families use ADSL modem, 2.6
million use WiFi or WiMax, 833,000 - use Dial-Up, and 842,000
households use GPRS access.
