Astana to host CIS prosecutors general coordination council meeting
The 25th session of CIS general prosecutors' coordination council will take place in Astana on August 27, AZERTAC learned from CIS headquarters. The meeting will discuss the experience of CIS prosecutors general in the fight against corruption, interaction in prosecutors' supervision over the law and transport, anti-extremist and anti-terrorist manifestations.
The participants of the session will analyze statistics on crime, investigative and prosecutorial activities, implementation of international treaties in the sphere of combating crime in the CIS member states for 2014. Members of the Council will assess the progress in the implementation of the last year's mid-term programs in the fight against crime, terrorism and other violent manifestations of extremism, illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors and counteraction against drug addiction, human trafficking and illegal migration. The participants will also discuss the election of the chairman of CIS Prosecutors General Coordinating Council, as well as the venue and date for the next meeting.
