Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves pledged to support Georgia's efforts towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

This statement was made at a meeting between Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and the Estonian president in Tbilisi on June 3.

Deepening of bilateral economic cooperation, Georgia’s EU integration and relations with NATO were the main issues on the agenda of the meeting. Estonia actively assists Georgia in these issues.

"The prime minister thanked Toomas Hendrik Ilves for his support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity as well as European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, and expressed hope for a deepening of bilateral political, economic and cultural cooperation," the prime minister's office reported.

The sides also discussed prospects for developing bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries in different fields.

Cooperation with Estonia in the field of e-governance was also underlined at the meeting. Estonia is ready to share its experiences in different directions with Georgia, including membership at NATO and EU integration. The prime minister highly estimated experts' assistance in this area.

The Georgia-Estonia meeting carries great importance for further successful cooperation between the two countries.

Garibashvili noticed that the Georgian government considers Ilves's visit as confirmation of the "special partnership which exist in between the two countries".

The Estonian president has already met with Georgian President Georgi Margvelashvili and Parliamentary Speaker David Usupashvili.
