Uzbekistan Airways up passengers transportation
Uzbekistan National Airways transported 575,000 passengers in January-March 2015, which is 0.4 percent more than in the same period of 2014.
Some 261,000 passengers were transported to the CIS countries, 188,000 to the far abroad countries, 125,000 passengers - on domestic flights.
The company carried out 5,549 flights in the first quarter of 2015. Some 1,394 flights of them were implemented to the far abroad countries, 1,998 flights to the CIS countries, 2,157 flights on domestic routes.
The volume of cargo transportations (taking into account the excess baggage) of the airline amounted to 2,600 metric tons compared to 9,900 metric tons in the first quarter of 2014 (a 3.8 percent increase).
In 2014, two Boeing-767-300ER aircraft were re-equipped from passenger to cargo Boeing-767-300BCF aircraft. Commercial aircraft loading is 53 metric tons. The planes were re-equipped by Boeing company at the aircraft repair base in Singapore.
Since the beginning of March 2015, these planes have launched regular cargo flights from Navoi airport, and an international intermodal logistics center is located on its base.
Uzbekistan Airways is the monopoly carrier in Uzbekistan and is wholly owned by the state. Its fleet currently consists of 29 aircraft of western production, including 11 Boeings (four 767-300, five 757-200 and two 767- 300-ER), 13 Airbuses (three A-310 and 10 - A-320- 200), three medium-range RJ- 85 planes and two Airbus A300-600F cargo planes.
Uzbekistan Airways performs flights to 21 cities in Europe, America, Middle East, Asia, and in 23 cities of countries of Commonwealth of Independent States and 11 destinations on local airlines.
In 2014, the Uzbek airline decreased the transportation of passengers by 1.9 percent, or up to 2.625 million passengers compared to 2013. The volume of freight transportations (including baggage transportation) increased by 4.6 percent, up to 43,000 metric tons in 2014.
