Uzbekistan unites air rescues

The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan has approved a regulation on the single aviation search and rescue service of the republic by its resolution, Trend reports.

The single aviation search and rescue service is designed to search and to rescue the aircraft in distress or suffering distress, as well as to conduct the rescue operations upon the instructions of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic in case of emergency situations.

The service will include the representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the State Inspectorate for Safety Oversight, Uzbekistan Airways, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Interior Ministry, the National Security Service and the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, as well as the public authorities on the scene and the airport administrations.

Under the decree, twenty-four-hour alert of search and rescue forces and aviation, subdivisions, ministries, agencies and airlines that are included in the new service will be organized, in order to ensure the search and rescue of passengers and crews of crashing or crashed aircraft on Uzbekistan’s territory.

The statute defines the functions of each agency in organizing the twenty-four-hour alert of the service and in search and rescue operations.

The operator of the crashing or crashed aircraft is obliged to provide the new service with all the necessary information to organize the search and rescue operations.

The Coordinating Council under the chairmanship of the deputy defense minister - commander of air defense and air forces of Uzbekistan – will lead the activities of the service.

Under the document, the first deputy minister of emergency situations of Uzbekistan is the deputy chairman of the Coordinating Council.
