The first stage of the war games, codenamed The Great Prophet-9, was held on February 25 by the IRGC Navy in the Strait of Hormuz, known as the most strategic waterway in the Persian Gulf.

The force will fly its reconnaissance drones equipped with powerful cameras and test its weapons including Ramait roadside mine, Sayyad bounding mine, Asefeh 23mm Gatling gun, Arash shoulder-launched weapon and sniper rifle Siyavash.

The reconnaissance robots are equipped with normal and technical cameras capable of surveying a range of 50 kilometers, Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported on February 26.The combat robots are also equipped with a 7.62 mm caliber machine gun that is capable of destroying targets within a range of five kilometers.

Ten divisions from the IRGC Ground Force are involved in the military drill.

On the first day of the drill the IRGC Naval Force successfully targeted a U.S. aircraft carrier model.

The model was built in real size and came under attack and was destroyed by missiles and rockets fired from tens of IRGC speedboats.

The IRGC also fired its high precision capability missiles at a carrier during the massive wargames. Different IRGC navy vessels were used in the exercises staged in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
