No one can put Georgia's European integration or its European orientation under doubt, since it is the country's foreign policy and also choice of Georgian people, said a top Georgian official.

Irakli Garibahsvili, Georgian Prime Minister, has also talked about Georgia's attractiveness for investors, as well as its stance on Ukrainian crisis and threats from Russia, in an interview with American broadcaster CNBC, at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

"Ukraine is a close friend of Georgia and we are very concerned about what is going on there,” Garibashvili said.

"We experienced this conflict in 2008 and the world did not pay enough attention at that time," he said, recalling the war against Russia in 2008 over two breakaway regions - Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) regions.

"The major problem with Russia is the territories under its occupation. We have achieved some improvements in terms of the economy and trade, nonetheless, there are no advancements related to foreign policy ties," Garibashvili said.

He added that Russia's treaties with Abkhazia and South Ossetia are a step to annex those regions of Georgia.

Last November, Russia signed a strategic partnership treaty with Abkhazia to recognize the separatist regime as an independent country.
