Kazakh president to visit Croatia
Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev plans to visit Croatia in 2015, Kazinform reported on October 30.
Kazakh Foreign Minister Erlan Idrisov confirmed the news at a
briefing after talks with Croatian First Deputy Prime Minister and
Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusic in Astana.
"The main topic of our negotiations was strengthening of
cooperation, and we believe that our meeting today will lay a good
foundation for the preparation of qualitative visit of our
president to your country next year," Erlan Idrisov said.
The foreign minister said that Kazakhstan and Croatia have good
prospects for deepening cooperation.
He also noted that an agreement was reached to work together to
enable the private sectors of the two countries to strengthen
relations.
"Engineering industry, metallurgy, food processing and processing
of other products, as well as areas such as tourism, transport and
infrastructure were named as promising for cooperation," concluded
Erlan Idrisov.
The presidential visit will be prepared taking these issues into consideration.
The diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Croatia were
established in 1992.
The turnover between two countries hit $366.9 million including
$50.8 million Kazakh export and $16 million Kazakh import in
2013.
Export of Kazakh mineral products and energy products to Croatia
accounts for about 90 percent of the trade turnover. Moreover
Kazakhstan exports chemical products, textiles and textile products
to Croatia.
Croatia, in turn, exports products of animal and vegetable origin,
food products, chemical products, shoes and clothing products,
construction materials, metals and products, machinery and
equipment to Kazakhstan.
