Georgia, ADB mull cooperation issues

Georgian Economy Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili met with a delegation of the Asian Development Bank, headed by ADB Vice-President Wencai Zhang.

The sides discussed ADB activity in Georgia, current and planned projects, the Georgian Economy Ministry reported on October 29.

The forthcoming International Investment Forum initiated by the Georgian Ministry of Economy was discussed. The event will be held under the ADB auspices in Tbilisi October 29-30.

The investment forum entitled "Georgia - regional center and country, connecting Asia with Europe" is aimed to brief Asian business circles about the investment potential of the country, to exchange experience and views on the promotion of trade and economic cooperation in the region.

More than 100 senior officials from various countries, including Japan, China, South Korea, India, Malaysia, Turkey, were invited for the forum. The meeting will bring together concerned people from the U.S and European countries. The forum will bring together over 200 representatives from Georgia.

The cooperation issues in the area of structural reforms, including the reform of the capital market and pension reform were discussed at the meeting.
