Tajik parliament ratifies agreement with ADB on border services
The Tajik Parliament ratified a grant agreement undersigned
between Tajikistan and Asian Development Bank (ADB) on "Central
Asian regional economic cooperation on border services improvement"
project.
The project envisages creation of appropriate infrastructure at the
Gulistan checkpoint in Isfara district, Avesta.Tj reported on
October 1.
In particular, it is expected to build the terminal, establish a
bonded warehouse and other infrastructure to reduce registration
time and passing of goods.
Estimated cost of the project amounts to $11.1 million, $9.2
million of which accounts for ADB's grant.
Tajik government's share in the project amounts to $1.9 million,
which will be provided due to tax exemption.
